Last Update January 7, 2012
Pandora kicked off our calving season the same way it's been kicked off every year......we have a bull calf.
Bachelor number one is out of our beautiful national champion Pandora by our herd bull Ringo.  We're seeing a definite pattern of physical characteristics here in Ringo's offspring.  This guy weighs in at 50 pounds, is 25" tall, is 20" long and has a nice deep heart girth of 27".  Deeper around than he is tall, very nice when you consider the beef is in the depth, not the legs.
Dora has a beautiful udder and this boy is taking advantage of that nice warm milk on this cold winter day.
This bull calf is free of PHA and Chondro and may be homozygous for the A2 gene.
Watch for him on our 2012 show string!
Calf is available for purchase
December 29 at 7:00 am was Butter's turn to calve.
We have Bachelorette number one!  Ringo's first non-black calf.....a dun heifer.  This is our second heifer calf
out of Butter and
she seems to have
done it up right.
This is a very well
developed heifer
weighing in at
60 pounds.  She is
26" tall, is very long
measuring 26", like
her brother (above)
she has a deep
heart girth of 28".  .
We were blessed
with our final calf
out of Butter, as
Butter is sold and
will be moving to
Colorado this summer
to be with her new
family.  Like her
brother she is free
of PHA and Chondro and may be homozygous for the A2 gene.
Come see her at the fairs, she'll be on our show string this coming season.
Bachelor number two arrived January 5, 2012.  Happy New Year to all!
He is part of our cross bred beef program.  Dexter is fantastic for cross breeding.  Of course you can't use your Dexter cows due to the calving risks but our bulls have done a fine job on some larger ladies.
This little man is 1/4 Angus, 1/4 Lowline Angus and 1/2 Frederick.
He weighed in at 68 pounds, 26.5 inches tall, 28 inches long and a 28.5 inch heart girth.  He's deeper than he is tall or long!
Mom had him clean and fluffy in a jiffy and up and nursing.
